PSU Dandy Dialer Export Notes

While this program was written specifically for use in connecting
to Penn State's authenticated Internet connection services, others 
may find it useful for their particular SLIP or PPP provider.

Trumpet Winsock

You will need to modify the LOGIN.ORI file.  It is a "skeleton" 
script used to generate the LOGIN.CMD.  Values for the chosen 
saved entry are substituted for the "bracketed" strings, such 
as "<ModemSetup1>" and "<userid>".

Note that <ModemSetup> is synonymous with <Modemsetup1>.


FTP Software's PC/TCP

For PC/TCP the setup is not so flexible.  The command finally issued
is:
                COMSCRPT.PIF BELL DIALUP

So the host name is BELL and the script named is DIALUP.  These have
to be specified in the PCTTCP.INI.  The skeleton script is dialbell.ori, 
and PSUDial creates a dialbell.scr.  We've given up on PC/TCP for 
asynchronous connections, so we are not likely to make this part easier
for others to use.
